Praying … and Keeping on Praying

Listen to these words of exhortation from a woman at my church yesterday:

Don’t stop praying at the brink of breakthrough.

I apologize that I’ve missed posting blogs for a couple of weeks. But you want to know why? I was immersed in some end-of-May events that proved to be life-changing, things that brought breakthrough in my heart and spirit.

Breakthrough I’ve been praying a very long time for.

I’m still catching up from these experiences and the changes that come with new seasons, and I’m still trying to process everything that God is doing.

But what I know for certain, right now, is this: It’s never too late for God to bring a new season, full of hope and expectation, into your life. It’s never worth it to stop praying or believing God for the fullness of His purpose and presence to be manifested in your life.

What is this season like for you right now? Are you weary? Tired of rejection or disappointment? Broken-hearted and wondering if healing is possible? Desperate?

Wherever you are, keep praying. Keep calling out to God. Keep reading the Word of God. Keep going to church and staying connected to your Christian family. Even if you don’t feel like it, if you aren’t sure what to believe anymore, if your heart feels dead and disconnected—keep at it.

Because all these things bear fruit in your life, even if you do them with the thinnest thread of faith. You’re contending for breakthrough.

And, like the day lilies in my back yard laden with buds, you’re right on the brink of it.

For I am confident of this very thing, that He who began a good work in you will perfect it until the day of Christ Jesus. (Philippians 1:6, NAS)

Pray for:

  • God’s strength to be made perfect in your weakness
  • God to give you wisdom and revelation as you seek Him
  • God to show you the good work He is doing in this season of your life
