Praying for the Fullness of Day

I thought I had missed the sunrise. At 6:40 a.m., light already hovered behind swaths of shadowy clouds. I turned my head for another look at the ocean, and suddenly I saw it—that melon patch on the horizon and, seconds later, the muted edge of brilliance emerging from far-away waves.

The first light of dawn was ascending toward full day.

Later that morning—just yesterday—I listened to a speaker quote Proverbs 4:18, “But the path of the righteous is like the light of dawn, that shines brighter and brighter until the full day.”

It reminded me that the renewal God brings into our lives, the resurrection life I talked about last Monday, is a process. As God brings revelation through His Word,  the Holy Spirit, and the insight of others, we see the first glimmer of sunrise and ponder the beauty unfolding before us.

But the light of full day—the full application and experience of that new life, often requires time, prayer and tested faith before it shines at its brightest, like the zenith of noon.

As you continue to believe God for the resurrection of dreams, for relationships, for renewed faith or hope, remember that His answer to your prayers has very likely already begun. Continue to trust Him for the full light of redemption of every circumstance, including your singleness.

Pray for:

  • Revelation and grace to walk God’s righteous path as single men and women
  • Realization of the beauty and hope unfolding in this current season of singleness
  • Full redemption of singleness, disappointment and other circumstances affecting single men and women
