Praying for God-Directed Strategies

I’ve had several interesting conversations recently with a few women about pursuing marriage.

For one woman, that means telling certain trustworthy women about her desire for marriage and asking them to pray with her for it. For another woman, it means asking some of her guy friends about why they do—and don’t—pursue dating relationships. And for one more, it means delving into the world of online matchmaking for the first time.

What about you? Have you ever thought about asking God for a strategy for pursuing marriage in this season of your life? One book, Get Married: What Women Can Do to Help it Happen, has caught my eye. I’ve not read it yet, but it seems to indicate that there are appropriate ways for Christian women to be proactive with this desire of their hearts.

Proverbs 3:6 says, “In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths.” Why not pray, trust and seek God this week for His specific path for your life that leads to marriage?

Pray for:

•      Godly encouragers and prayer partners as you seek this path

•      Clarity on taking hold of new things or activities and letting go of current things or activities

•      Obedient faith and nonjudgmental spirits as God works differently in each person’s life
